Finally got to hear this, since we were out of town on the day you preached. What a blessing. I don’t want to hear preaching that doesn’t speak of the greatness of God above all things — great in his power, great in his truth, great in his judgment, great in his lovingkindness, great in his grace, great in his sovereignty over every detail. There is truly none like him in heaven or earth. Thanks, Bro.
So true man. Our thoughts must continually be renewed along these lines. Gospel preaching is meant to do violence to the “God” of our petty imagination. Our thinking must be transformed because we so easily forget the sovereign majesty of God and the implications of His glorious Gospel. That’s why the invitation to the Lord’s table is, “Do this in Remembrance of Me.”
