It’s 11:30pm on Thursday and we just arrived home about an hour ago. Man, am I tired. If you were at the conference and are checking into Sacrosanct Gospel for the first time – Welcome! I had a great time speaking at Elevate this year. You guys are so awesome! Justin and I would like to say thanks to Trey, Todd, Tommy, Nikki, Adam, Ande, Monty, Daniel, Tim, Wayne Kerr, the band, the staff and leaders and a big thank you to all the students who allowed us to joyfully proclaim the Gospel of Jesus to you all! I thought that last night was particularly impacting as the Spirit of Christ seemed to speak to all of us powerfully through Scala, U2, Coldplay, Lord of the Rings, and especially through the Word of God as we considered what it means to “shine like stars in the universe” (Phil 2:15). “Look how they shine…Look how they shine for You…”
I also want to thank you for this morning as we closed out our time together by looking at the promise of a new Kingdom and the responsibility we have to lovingly fight for the Glory of Our Courageous King – Waging Peace, Plotting Kindness, and Scheming Love. Jesus told Peter in Matthew 19, “I tell you the truth, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me… who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.” I can’t wait. Can you?
Never turn back. Press forward. Follow Jesus. Allow Him to use you to Violently Rip Large Gaping Holes of Love and Grace in this dark world; gaping holes that Reveal the Glory and Wonder of His Kingdom. Jesus is so worth the worship of our Hearts. He is so worthy to be our King.
“And gentlemen now abed in England will think themselves accursed they were not here, and hold their manhoods cheap, whilst any speaks, that fought with us, upon St. Crispin’s Day!”
I will be posting entries during the next week that connect in some way with the talks at Elevate, so if you attended the conference, be sure to check back in.

Last night I spoke and 5000 people gave their lives to Christ. Not really. However, it is going well. Justin finished up his talks this morning and I have two more to go. After the evening session, Justin and I drove into downtown Chattanooga at about 10pm with The Wayne Kerr Band and some of Justin’s ‘homies’ from
Florida. We ate at this a
wesomely cool eclectic dive called “Aretha Frankenstein’s”. It’s an old house that’s been turned into a hippie bar and grill that specializes in breakfast cuisine. Sort of like Bob Marley meets the Waffle House. Great food! But still…Justin ordered a spinach omelet that may have been filled with some other exotic weed instead. From the looks of the cook, I’m almost sure of it. I’m just messing around. It probably was just spinach. Maybe.
In regard to the conference, the students seem to be responding well. Keep praying that God will use this time of teaching, prayer, relationship building, worship, and fun to powerfully advance His Kingdom. May Christ be praised!

Our talks are going well so far. It is amazing how the Lord is working our messages out. They seem to be perfectly complimenting one another. We both sense that there are a number of hurting students here this summer. Please pray that Jesus will soften hearts and open ears. The Wayne Kerr band is leading worship and the music is connecting to my heart in a powerful way. I love worshiping under those guys leadership. It’s very authentic. Keep praying.

Me and Justin and our families all made it to Chattanooga safely. The trip started a little rough. We borrowed a luggage topper from my friend Mike King and something was vibrating and rattling whenever we got over 40mph. It drove us crazy until we finally figured out that the straps that held on the topper were vibrating. After a few minor adjustments the problem was solved. Justin is speaking in the morning. He’s a little nervous. Pray for him. We’re speaking to about 275 students. Our messages will center around the theme “A King and a Kingdom” – contrasting the “Kingdom “message emphasized in the Gospel of Matthew with the “King” message emphasized in the Gospel of John. We’ll be using some songs from Derek Webb and I’m going to be highlighting some scenes from Lord of the Rings. It should be fun. You can get a feel for the conference by checking out the video link below. It’s from last years conference. You can catch me about half way through the video. I’ve also included a link to come pics from last year.

My posts will be fairly light over the next week. Justin Woodall and I are speaking at Elevate – a PCA Senior High Conference that is being held at Covenant College in Chattanooga, TN. Justin will speak in the morning and I will speak in the evening. I’m really looking forward to it. I will keep you updated if I can find service somewhere around the campus. My little Mac is not always that great at finding a signal, so we’ll see what happens.
